India

In this travel/study experience, students will explore both the history and social implications of India and how it relates to each individual's course of study. India maintains the oldest spiritual tradition on this planet, and as such, we have much to learn and ascertain from this country. All students will be introduced to the spiritual traditions of India that will help deepen their study in the area of building communities; the arts; business and leadership; education and health and healing. Exact course assignments will be determined based on each student's individual study focus.
We will learn some Sanskrit, Hindi, or Bengali to help us on our journey.

Italy

Italy is a country rich in spiritual traditions and saints.
In this travel/study experience, students will spend part of their time at Ananda's European colony, Ananda Assisi. Yogananda predicted that world brotherhood colonies, based on the twin principles of

"plain living and high thinking" would be the social pattern for the New Age. Swami Kriyananda, the founder of the Ananda Communities and author of several books on creating communities, lives in this community for several months. Kriyananda has dedicated nearly 40 years to the creation of world brotherhood colonies. With wisdom, friendship, self-sacrifice, inspiration and patience, he has guided these communities through the storms and trials of shaping a social prototype for the future. As well as our stay at Ananda Assisi, we will travel throughout Italy studying the art, architecture, spiritual pilgrimage spots, and the saints that have enriched this culture. There will be drawing and painting classes, lectures on history, religion and culture, and the proverbial chance to sample a culture reknown for its devotion, people, cuisine and sightseeing activities.We will learn Italian to prepare for our trip.
