Journey to ancient civilizations and spend 5 days with renowned author, geologist, and explorer Dr. Robert Schoch of Boston University. This program is available for course credit (Ananda College World Cultures & Consciousness) or non-credit (for public and all other participants.)
In 1990, Dr. Schoch stunned the world with his revolutionary research re-casting the date of the Great Sphinx of Egypt to a period thousands of years earlier than its standard attribution of circa 2500 BCE. His latest research, published in his new book “Forgotten Civilization: The Role of Solar Outbursts in Our Past and Future,” points to the astronomical cause of the end of the last ice age and the demise of early civilizations of that remote period. He will present new research on the Göbekli Tepe complex in Turkey, which confirms his thesis that ancient civilization goes back thousands of years earlier than mainstream historians generally care to acknowledge. He will also showcase spectacular new cutting-edge science that sheds hopeful light on our future, plus he will discuss other aspects of his research from countries he has explored around the globe.
Dr. Schoch has been quoted extensively in the media for his work on ancient cultures, and he is featured in NBC’s Emmy-winning documentary “The Mystery of the Sphinx.” Besides “Forgotten Civilization,” his books include “Voices of the Rocks: A Scientist Looks at Catastrophes and Ancient Civilizations,” “Voyages of the Pyramid Builders,” “Pyramid Quest,” and “The Parapsychology Revolution: A Concise Anthology of Paranormal and Psychical Research.”
Program includes lectures, talks & discussions, visual media and experiential session. Homework for those taking the course for credit.
