Scholarships and Work-Study

Ananda College of Living Wisdom offers a rolling admissions system. Please apply as soon as possible if you are requesting assistance. You may submit a General Application and a Financial Aid Application concurrently, but we must receive your application and notify you of acceptance before we can schedule a financialaid interview.

Work-Study Scholarships

Ananda College of Living Wisdom offers a generous work-study scholarship for those that qualify. Work-study scholarships range from $500 to maximum $3,500 per academic year. The Work-Study scholarships do require a candidate to submit both a general application and a financial application first, and then follow-up with a personal interview once the candidate has been accepted.

A work-study scholarship offers work in the kitchen, the bakery, the vegetable gardens or green house, housekeeping and cleaning, wood-cutting and stacking, maintenance help, computer work and a variety of tasks that keep our guest meditation retreat running smoothly.

Sri Yukteswar Scholarship

The Sri Yukteswar Scholarship is available for students competing for the B.A. degree in Living Wisdom Studies, a four-year program, though transfer students may apply.

The Sri Yukteswar Scholarship is awarded to qualifying students in increments from $500 to $2,500, based on scholarship, essay, and need. All these scholarships do require a candidate to submit both a general application and a financial application first, and then follow-up with a personal interview once the candidate has been accepted.

Combining scholarships

If you were awarded a maximum work-study scholarship and a maximum Sri Yukteswar Scholarship, you would still need to pay $9,000, not including the travel abroad. Many of our students work hard in the summer months and can make about $5,000 in 3 months if they are living at home. And, most of our students do receive some help from parents or family members.

Study Abroad

The study abroad, which includes airfare, tuition, room and board for 5-6 weeks, is $5,000 and no scholarships are available for this.
