Sri Yukteswar Scholarship Helps College Students Find Answers to the World’s Current Problems...

The Sri Yukteswar Scholarship Fund was established to foster study of the cycle of the ages and its causes as described by Sri Yukteswar in his book “The Holy Science.”

The myth and folklore of ancient cultures around the world hint at a vast cycle of time with alternating Dark and Golden Ages.....Plato called it the Great Year. Most of us were taught that this is “just a fairy tale” and there was no Golden Age. But recent archaeological and astronomical evidence suggests the myths may have a basis in fact. If so, this knowledge has profound implications for how we view our history and our world.

Studies have shown that those who experience memory loss (through trauma or diseases) are unable to plan for the future and often display dysfunctional behavior in the present. Apparently, the human psyche needs to understand where it has come from in order to see where it is going. The same principle applies to the world culture. If we have forgotten our rich and beautiful history, the result is a modern world unable to see its future, experiencing difficulty in the present.

Thus, Sri Yukteswar, with the guidance of Mahavatar Babaji, has given us the keys to unlock the mystery of our past, and once again see the full potential of our future. It is hoped that a thorough understanding of the cycle of ages, its causes and characteristics, will lead to new insights in the fields of archaeology, astronomy, anthropology and a number of related disciplines. It may also help to heal much of the angst and concern about the world’s current problems.

Scientific and academic efforts to study the cycle, and its many ramifications, are already taking place at Ananda College of Living Wisdom, the Binary Research Institute and at such events as the annual “Conference on Procession and Ancient Knowledge”, held at a major university each fall.

We encourage and expect that students that benefit from the Sri Yukteswar Scholarship Fund will further these studies and make a positive contribution to the world at large.
