An Evening with Philip Goldberg
Thurs. Dec 8th, 2011

Author Philip Goldberg will discuss his newest book, “American Veda—From Emerson and the Beatles to Yoga and Meditation—How Indian Spirituality Changed the West,” on Thursday night, December 8th, 7:30 pm at Ananda College of Living Wisdom Temple at the Meditation Retreat campus.

“American Veda” chronicles a revolution in consciousness that spread from India and captured the hearts of millions of Americans. Today, 15 million Americans meditate and practice yoga, and yoga is spreading like an ecumenical flame throughout the world, into workplaces, medical clinics, and even as a healing salve for veterans returning from the Iraq War. The presentation will bring to life the major players in this great transmission through photos, audios and videos.

Philip Goldberg is a spiritual counselor and interfaith minister in Los Angeles. The former director of the Forge Guild of Spiritual Leaders and Teachers, he has authored or coauthored 19 books. His titles include “The Intuitive Edge—Understanding Intuition & Applying it in Everyday Life,” and “Roadsigns on the Spiritual Path: Living at the Heart of Paradox.” Phil offers spiritual counseling in person and by telephone, and conducts workshops throughout the country. He was involved with Maharishi University in its early years and teaches a course in the Yoga Philosophy program at Loyola Marymount University in Southern California.
