What are truly the deepest human needs? Beneath a myriad of superficial concerns, we find such recurring themes as happiness, security, love and inner peace. Directional Psychology helps people to clarify their ideals, understand what they really want and choose directions in which they themselves would like to move. Students with this focus are guided toward careers in counseling, the healing arts, social work, consulting, and teaching.
Directional Psychology is a comprehensive course of study that explores both Eastern and Western psychology. The classes are designed to help students gain insight into themselves and the world around them through understanding behavioral, affective and cognitive psychology.
Students study and practice a multidisciplinary approach to psychology. Just a few course components include History of Psychology; Introduction to Directional Psychology; Jungian Psychology; Introduction to Ayurveda; Positive Psychology; Vedic Sciences; Vastu Design; Vedic Astrology; Senior Project or Advanced Practicum; Ayurveda & the Mind; Energy Healing; Yoga, Meditation & Ayurveda; and Tools of Maturity. For upper division students, independent research projects offer exciting opportunities for in-depth research and practical application.
