Health and Healing Overview

The Ananda Institute of Alternative Living offers the ideal environment for students interested in a career in the holistic healing arts. We are located just five miles from Ananda Village, home to over 200 people, many who have been active as alternative healers for more than 30 years. Nevada County, where the institute is located, has one of the highest concentrations of alternative healers, practitioners and schools in the US. For students applying to the institute, many of our healing courses are included in the “how to live” general course of study that all students complete. Students who choose the Health & Healing “major career focus” receive a certificate of completion of study in Holistic Health and Healing.

Course Curriculum

Study Abroad for Health & Healing

Students with a “major career focus” in Health & Healing must complete independent projects in the area of Health & Healing during annual study abroad programs. These projects are determined with each student and the Health & Healing Career Counselor prior to embarking on each trip. Study abroad Health & Healing projects can be varied and creative, but must relate to a particular area of focused learning for each Health & Healing student.

Application Process

Students choosing Health & Healing as a “major career focus” must complete the standard application along with the Ananda Holistic Healing Application.

Specialized Certification

For those wanting to add-on additional specialized training beyond what is offered in our Ananda Holistic Healer certification program, training certification programs are held at our campus or at Ananda Village for the following:

• School of the Heart Hospice Home Health Aide certification
• Yoga Teacher Training Certification
• Meditation Teacher Training Certification
• Flower Essence Practitioner Certification
