Transferring to the Institute

In the realm of higher education, the Ananda Institute of Alternative Living is a unique college with goals much different from traditional colleges. We strongly encourage transfer students to read our online brochure thoroughly, to visit our campus to talk with students and faculty, to sit in on classes, and to take one of our tours.

Due to the nature of our goals and curriculum, we work closely with each student transferring to establish suitable transfer credits.

Transfer Student Requirements:
	Application: $75 non-refundable application fee High School Transcript(s) College Transcript(s) Dean of Students statement SAT, ACT or other scores Personal Essay (see application) Teacher’s letter of recommendation General recommendation Personal Interview

Transfer students need to meet with faculty in their area of interest. Both student and faculty members should have a clear understanding of what work (if any) will be required before a student enters the institute.

	Fall Application Deadline: July 1 Spring Application Deadline: November 1

Transfer Credit:

Ananda Institute of Alternative Living accepts transfer credits taken at another college or university only if the courses are comparable and if the student has received suitable grades. After an applicant has been admitted we will review previous college transcripts and inform you by letter which credits will transfer. Due to the unique nature of the courses we offer, it is best to handle transfer credit questions during the personal interview.
