Ananda College home campus is located in the foothills of Northern California. A second, larger campus has been established near Portland, Oregon.
Laurelwood Campus, Oregon
The Laurelwood campus is located about 60 minutes from downtown Portland, an hour drive from the main Portland airport and about 7 miles from Forest Grove. The campus is 28 minutes from the light rail MAX line in downtown Beaverton, making the larger Portland area easily accessible.
On site living and academic space for 300 students includes a large auditorium, gymnasium, theater space, science labs, music classrooms, large-scale spaces for cooking classes, a library and carpeted “yoga rooms” for postures, meditation and yoga therapy classes.
The campus sits on a hill with a dramatic western view of the Oregon coastal ranges. The beautiful Willamette Valley surrounds the campus, along with small farms, communities, orchards, trails and a seasonally temperate climate. Oregon coast and beaches are only 90 minutes away.
Sierra Nevada Campus, California
The original Ananda College campus is located on 70 acres of preserved wild forests in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, about 90 minutes from Sacramento, two hours from Reno and 75 minutes from NorthLake Tahoe.
Located in a serene, meditative environment featuring abundant wildlife, rolling hills, rivers and nature trails, the campus is a living laboratory for the small communities solution, sustainability and off-the-grid living.
The College has vegetable gardens, cob structures and a large passive solar green house for growing our own food. Solar panels and wind turbine provide our electricity.
